Watercolours

2020

Made during the isolation of Singapore's 2020 partial lockdown, this series of works on paper tracks a period of material experimentation for Yeo Tze Yang. Using a small box of watercolors brought back from a 2019 residency in Kuala Lumpur, Yeo combined the pigments with Chinese ink, acrylics, markers, and correction fluid.

The collection reflects a practical adaptation to working within a confined domestic space. By mixing everyday stationery with traditional art supplies, the works document an intuitive process where household constraints led to new variations in texture, color, and form.
