This body of work was created during a one-month residency in Kuala Lumpur in 2019, serving as a testbed for lightweight, mobile studio methodologies. Developed with ease of transport in mind, the pieces rely on a strict black-and-white framework that shifts the focus away from color entirely. Instead, the works isolate line, contour, and stark tonal contrast, documenting a temporary departure from heavy canvas painting toward rapid, graphic observations on paper.
